5 round Swiss, open to 4 player teams with one optional alternate.

Choice of 2-day or 3-day schedules.

Team average (4 highest ratings – January 2025 Rating List) must be

under 2200 for Open

under 1600 for Reserve

An entire team may take up to two byes in any rounds; byes must be requested by end of round 2 and are irrevocable after the end of round 2.

Time Controls

Game/90 +30 sec increment from move 1. Rounds 1 and 2 in the 2-day schedule play Game/60, d5.

Entry Fees

$200 per team if received USPS or online by 6pm on Feb. 9

$220 per team if received USPS or online by 6pm on Feb. 16

$240 per team online until 9:30am Feb. 21 and onsite.

Team changes onsite or after 6pm on Feb. 21, $20.

Individuals

…wishing to play, send $60 by USPS or online by 6pm on Feb. 16 or $60 thereafter, and request to be put on a team. Note: we guarantee you will play, but can’t guarantee which schedule, which board you will play, or the ratings of your teammates. Teams are formed the day of the event.

Schedule

3-DAY: onsite registration/check-in Friday, 5:30pm-6:30pm; Round 1, 7pm. Saturday, Round 2 10am; Round 3, 4pm. Sunday, Round 4, 10am; Round 5, 3:30pm.

2-DAY: onsite registration/check-in Saturday, 8am-9:30am; Round 1, 10am; Round 2, 1pm then merge with 3-day schedule for Round 3.

Prizes

Winning Open Section team qualifies for national playoffs.
